Simple Tips for Massive Conversion on Amazon Affiliates

Febuary last year, I got introduced to amazon, I was making a great deal with Google adsense but we all agree Internet marketing is always about making more money. I signed up with amazon affiliates, read a few articles and reviews on how amazon works. I grabbed some related widgets, added it to my site and waited to see the magic sales I have always heard and dreamt of.

Days passed and all I kept getting was clicks and more clicks, after two weeks of over 500 clicks, I managed to make two sales which were about 4 point something dollars. I felt – 500 adsense clicks would give me way much more, and then concluded that amazon isn’t the way to go so I parted ways. Early October, I gained insight as well as more tips on how to promote amazon, I decided to try out those tips on my site and guess what, I started making sales. A month after, I made about $92 on commission (I know it’s very little but it was all from a “give it a trial” effort) I have since gotten Insight to while I failed back then and massive conversion tips that works like magic.

If you are just starting out with amazon affiliate, stick to the following;

Find a niche; I know you’ve heard this so many times, seriously, your success depends on it

Here are steps to finding a good product to sell:

·         Go to any amazon department to locate a product, check out the “hot releases” “movers and shakers” “most wished for” to locate consistent products

·         Google the product name to determine the number of sites that appear in the results and make sure you check the quality of the sites on the first page to know your potential competitors

·         Use Google adword keyword tool to determine the number of searches made per month

·         Use google trends/insight to know if those trends are increasing or decreasing

·         Do your mathematics to determine if the product is a good niche

·         Get a good domain name and hosting, Install wordpress, get a good wordpress theme, add a few SEO plugins - all in one SEO or Platinum SEO (personally I use platinum SEO) add other useful plugins like google sitemap, getsocial, Incoming search terms, statpress and so on

·         Start writing reviews, summit some reviews to article directories, write unique hubs with a link pointing to your niche site – you can outsource your writing if you don’t have the flare or time.

The following tips will ensure your success:

·         Never promote amazon links with just widgets, it’s a waste of time (as a starter, we tend to relate adsense with amazon) robots does not crawl these widgets rather promote it as a post or an article that contains the product name in the title.

·         Write a very good and personalized product review – the effect of these shows on your clicks and CTR. Product reviews requires a little effort especially if you don’t own the product but a little research help a great deal.

·         Now, a lot of people say “Always promote products that are more than $100”, that’s no way to go, I think those magazine and DVD sales will do well for your performance level by increasing your commission rate and don’t forget that most people end up buying more recommended products.

·         Choose products that have really good reviews on Amazon.

·         Monitor your sales and always promote your best selling product more.

·         There are lots of people making huge sales from amazon, get tips from them and ask questions.

These are my experience so far, I’m still a newbie trying to make my thousands from amazon but I am very sure I’m on the right track.
